Sax/Keyboards: Vasilis Xenoupolus
Upon moving from Greece several years ago, Vasilis has made his mark as one of the most sort after saxophone and keyboard players in the London area. Before Vasilis came to England he studied at the world famous Berkeley College of Music in America where he gained himself one of the most sort after music degrees on the planet. Vasilis is currently on his final year of a Masters Degree at the London College of Music where he also teaches as well as studies. Vasilis is constantly approached by other musicians to play studio sessions and high profile gigs as well as having his main commitment to the ‘Funk Federation Band’.

Guitar: Gareth Smith
After completing a 3 year degree in popular music at the Guitar Institute in London, Gareth has set up his own teaching School in West London. As well as teaching, Gareth’s glowing reputation has landed him endless amounts of work as a session guitarist in different high class outfits up and down the country. Gareth’s addictive personality and extensive musical ability makes him a pleasure to work with. His repertoire is endless, specialising in Funk and Soul.

Drums: Geoff Walker
Geoff began his musical career back in his home town of County Durham before relocating to the London to follow his passion for music. He has played in several touring show bands including; A Tribute to Queen and a Boy Band with whom he travelled to Europe and the Middle East. Geoff has recently completed a 2 year intense Ba Honours degree at the famous Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford where he has been schooled by some of the best teachers on the planet, taking his playing ability to the highest levels. In the short time Geoff has lived in the capital he has built up an impressive number of contacts gaining him several studio sessions playing with original artists, as well as fitting in his busy schedule of live performances. Geoff is a very versatile drummer who can adapt to any style or genre. His playing is exciting and entertaining to watch and lets his love for music shine through.

Vocals: Dan Murphy
Dan has been singing professionally for over nine years. He has toured the Country with a number of show/cover bands, performing at theatres and other specialist venues. Playing at some of the biggest venues in the UK supporting artists such as; Blue, Will Young, Edwin Star and Heatwave, makes Dan a very experienced and confident singer. Three ago Dan moved to London, from Liverpool to front the ‘Funk Federations’ Band. Dan is one of the most unique voices on the present music scene and knows how to use it to the best of his ability. His friendly accent and charismatic personality allows him to win over any audience effortlessly. A true showman.

Bass: Thomas Purvay
Tom has been studying music for the past five years and currently in the last year of a music degree specialising in bass guitar. Originally for Birmingham Tom became a regular face on the music scene from a young age playing for large variety of bands and recording session which covered many styles. The live playing experience and variety of music have helped make Tom the musician he is today, with the ability to turn his hand to almost any job and confidence to perform to the best of his abilities in front of any audience. Now at the age of twenty two Tom is an accomplished musician on several instruments including piano, guitar, bass, didgeridoo, and djembe, whilst also composing musical for woodwind, strings, and brass sections with the aim of composing for media. Tom's musical pallet is wide and varied always open to new influences, but always keeps his love of funk and soul close to his playing finding great satisfaction in recreating the classic bass lines from this genre for the Funk Federation.

Backing Vocals: Elisha Laverne
Elisha La'verne was an aspiring singer from a very young age and as she grew older she was constantly involved with music, be it studio work, shows or musicals. In her late teens she worked with a producer called Trevor Davy who introduced her to Maxi Priest's Dugout Productions. Maxi, his brother Martin Elliott and Tony Hearne (Personal Manager) helped Elisha to create her debut EP "Just Landed", Containing four original songs - the success of "Just Landed" EP prompted Dugout to move to the second single, "I Like What You Do To Me", written by Alan Glass (Aretha Franklin and Deniece William's) and George McFarlen. This song was being sold in HMV Tokyo Japan and eventually got to the ears of Ken Sato head of A&R for international acts at Avex Inc. Japan, Leading to Elisha signing a Major recording deal with Avex Inc Japan. Elisa is now co-fronting The Funk Federation band and is an asset to have on board. |
